Welcome to Cedar Grove-Belgium Middle School's Athletic Department
Participation in athletics helps students learn teamwork skills as well as build individual character. In order to participate in MS Athletics a student must be in good academic standing. Eligibility requirements are outlined in the middle school student handbook. Below are descriptions of the athletics offered at the middle school and the dates and grade levels to which each is available. All students participating in athletics will need to receive a physical exam.
Parents of participants are required to complete the newly created physical examination extension form along with the Participation Form and return them to the MS Office. Physicals are only good for 2 years. If you have questions on if your student(s) need an updated physical contact the office.
Offered to our 5th - 8th graders, both boys and girls. Practice starts the first week of school and lasts about 5 weeks. Jerseys are provided.
Offered to our 7th and 8th graders. Practice begins in late October and lasts until the middle of December. The Rockets play each team in our league twice, once at home and once on the road. Jerseys are provided.
Offered to our 7th and 8th graders. Their practice begins December 2nd and goes until February 6th. They also play each team twice once on the road and once at home. Jerseys are provided.
Offered to our 5th-8th graders. Practice for the school team begins in late February and lasts about 5 weeks. They have meets both home and away. They wrestle other opponents in the same weight class.
Offered to our 7th and 8th graders. Starts in late February and lasts through March. Matches are played at the high school beginning at 4:00 and will last about an hour. Both teams play at the same time.
Offered to our 7th and 8th graders, both boys and girls. The season starts in April and ends in the middle of May. They practice two to three times a week with meets on opposite days. Meets are both home and away. Athletes are also asked to help at at least one high school meet.
